Lake Burrinjuck Resort — Fishing Promotions & Competitions Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to Lake Burrinjuck Resort fishing promotions, social-media catch promotions, vouchers and fishing competitions unless specific promotional terms state otherwise.

1. Promoter

The promoter is Lake Burrinjuck Resort, Woolgarlo NSW.

2. Eligibility

The promotion is available to eligible guests, visitors and customers of Lake Burrinjuck Resort participating during the advertised promotion period.

The promotion opens on 16 September 2026 and closes at the end of 31 January 2027. Both dates are inclusive.

Employees directly involved in administering or judging a competition, and members of management responsible for determining winners, are not eligible to win a prize in that competition.

Children may participate where the relevant promotion permits it. A parent or legal guardian must approve the child’s participation and claim or accept any promotional voucher on the child’s behalf. By doing so, the parent or guardian confirms that they have read and accepted these terms, including the image-use permission in clause 13 for any submitted photograph or video in which the child is identifiable.

For an entrant under 16, the required social-media post must be made by the parent or legal guardian from their own eligible account.

3. $10 Post Your Catch Voucher

To qualify for the standard fishing promotion voucher, the participant must:

  • catch an eligible fish during their current visit or trip to Lake Burrinjuck;
  • take a recent photograph or video of the catch;
  • post the catch to Facebook or Instagram and tag Lake Burrinjuck Resort, or otherwise satisfy the entry method advertised for that promotion;
  • show Resort staff the social-media post and, if requested, the original photograph or video showing that it was taken during the current visit.

Eligible species currently include:

  • Yellowbelly / Golden Perch
  • Redfin
  • Murray Cod — when the season is open

All participation remains subject to current NSW fishing laws, closed seasons and promotion-specific rules.

Murray cod fishing at Burrinjuck is closed from 1 September to 30 November inclusive. During this promotion, Murray cod entries are therefore eligible only for fish lawfully caught from 1 December 2026 to 31 January 2027, when the season is open, during the participant’s current stay or visit. Do not target Murray cod during the closed season.

The standard reward is a $10 Lake Burrinjuck Resort shop voucher.

4. Voucher and Promotion Limits

A maximum of one fishing-promotion voucher may be claimed per person per visit, unless a particular promotion expressly states otherwise.

A participant may receive a maximum of three approved voucher redemptions in total during the promotion period. For these terms, one redemption means one approved claim for one $10 Lake Burrinjuck Resort shop voucher.

The promotion is limited to 100 approved voucher redemptions in total across all participants. Once the 100-redemption limit has been reached, no further vouchers will be issued, even if the advertised closing date has not yet passed.

Catching or posting multiple fish does not create an entitlement to multiple standard vouchers during the same visit.

5. Voucher Redemption

Fishing-promotion vouchers:

  • must be redeemed in one transaction;
  • cannot be split across multiple transactions;
  • have no cash value;
  • cannot be exchanged for cash;
  • no cash change will be given;
  • exclude liquor and fuel;
  • cannot be combined with another promotional voucher or discount unless expressly stated;
  • must be redeemed by the expiry date shown on the voucher or promotion.

6. Optional Google Reviews — No Reward

Participants may choose to leave an honest and genuine Google review based on their actual experience with Lake Burrinjuck Resort.

The review:

  • may be positive, neutral or negative;
  • must reflect the participant’s genuine experience and opinion;
  • must not be written or dictated by Resort staff;
  • must not be fabricated or misleading;
  • must comply with Google’s applicable review policies.

Leaving a Google review is entirely optional. No voucher, voucher upgrade, discount or other reward is offered in exchange for a review.

Choosing whether to leave a review, its content and its star rating do not affect eligibility for the $10 Post Your Catch voucher.

7. Fishing Laws and Fish Welfare

All fishing must comply with current NSW recreational fishing laws, licence requirements, size and bag limits, closed seasons, protected-species requirements and other applicable rules.

Participants must not target, retain or handle fish unlawfully for the purpose of entering a promotion.

Fish intended for release should be handled carefully, kept out of the water for the shortest practicable time and released promptly.

Lake Burrinjuck Resort may reject an entry where there are reasonable grounds to believe the fish was caught, retained or handled contrary to applicable law or promotion rules.

8. Evidence and Verification

For the standard $10 catch voucher, an official measuring mat is not required unless specifically stated.

Resort staff may ask to see:

  • the original image or video;
  • the date information associated with the image;
  • the social-media post;
  • any other reasonable information required to confirm eligibility.

For higher-value competitions, additional verification may be required, including:

  • official measuring mat;
  • competition sticker or token;
  • full-length measurement photograph;
  • angler photograph;
  • original video.

The Resort may reject an entry if there is insufficient evidence to reasonably verify the catch, date, species or measurement.

9. Image Manipulation and AI

Entries must represent a genuine catch.

The Resort is not required to undertake technical forensic testing of photographs or videos.

It may request additional original material or other reasonable verification where an entry appears inconsistent or cannot be confidently verified.

If adequate verification cannot be supplied, the entry may be deemed ineligible.

10. Competitions and Prize Draws

Separate monthly or seasonal competitions may operate alongside the standard voucher promotion.

The specific competition announcement will state:

  • opening and closing dates;
  • eligible species or category;
  • required entry evidence;
  • prize;
  • whether the winner is selected by skill, measurement, judging or random draw;
  • any special eligibility or tie-break rules.

Where a random trade promotion is used in NSW, Lake Burrinjuck Resort will comply with the applicable requirements of the Community Gaming Act 2018 (NSW) and Community Gaming Regulation 2020.

Promotion-specific rules must be published where required.

11. Winner Selection and Disputes

Winners will be selected using the method advertised for that competition.

For measurement competitions, entries must allow the measurement to be read clearly and consistently.

Where an image does not reliably establish a precise measurement, the Resort may:

  • apply a conservative measurement;
  • require additional evidence;
  • treat substantially equal entries as a tie; or
  • declare the entry unable to be verified.

The Resort will apply the published rules consistently and make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes fairly.

12. Prizes

Prizes:

  • are not transferable unless stated;
  • are not redeemable for cash unless specifically stated;
  • may be substituted for an item of reasonably equivalent value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Resort’s reasonable control.

13. Use of Photos and Videos

By entering a competition or accepting a promotional voucher, the participant grants Lake Burrinjuck Resort permission to repost submitted photographs or videos on:

  • Facebook;
  • Instagram;
  • the Resort website;
  • email marketing;
  • printed promotional material;
  • in-park promotional displays.

Copyright remains with the original creator.

Where a submitted photograph or video includes an identifiable person under 18, the parent or legal guardian who submits or approves the entry and claims or accepts the voucher on the child’s behalf expressly grants Lake Burrinjuck Resort permission to use that content for the promotional and marketing purposes listed above.

The parent or guardian confirms that they have authority to provide this permission and, where the child is old enough to understand, that the child is comfortable with the image being shared. No child’s full name, school or other identifying details will be published by the Resort without separate permission.

14. Social Media Platforms

Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotions are administered by Lake Burrinjuck Resort and are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram, Meta or Google.

Participants remain responsible for complying with the applicable platform terms.

15. Changes, Closure or Cancellation

Lake Burrinjuck Resort may reasonably amend, suspend or cancel a promotion where required because of:

  • changes in fishing regulations;
  • lake or weather conditions;
  • safety issues;
  • errors in promotional material;
  • circumstances outside the Resort’s reasonable control.

Any material change should be communicated through the same channels used to advertise the promotion where practicable.

16. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
